Mary Bennett

I was not one of those kids who doodled at school. But when I took a B.Ed.,
I had a very inspiring prof for the required “Art Education course. I
switched my major to Art Education (and Literature). I enjoy painting, but
more so the unfolding process of creating these mixed-media collage pieces.
They evolve as I begin with a concept for a series, add paint washes; images
from photos or magazines, and various layers.

I have two grown sons, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. It’s
satisfying and a bit scary to share my art work. I’m a Unitarian and
consider art making a spiritual discipline.
